Marble, one of the oldest and most unique crystalline limestones, presents itself in pure or grained appearance. The stone, which originally consisted mostly of calcium carbonate, reached deep layers of the earth in the course of millions of years in combination with plants and shellfish, where enormous pressure and heat produced its noble texture. Since ancient times, this stone has inspired unique works of art.
